Welcome to my blog about our old static caravan!

Well - where do I begin? We have always loved camping and over the years have owned loads of tents but getting on a bit meant we next moved into the world of touring caravans......eventually we put our van onto a static pitch and loved it.....so started looking for the holy grail of holidays - our very own static! The prices however were well out of our league so we started looking at small sites and found one only 30 minutes from where we live. Now this sounds daft but its in lovely countryside and its fab relaxing in your own holiday home without hours and hours of driving.. So we bought our first van - very old but in great nick - nothing to do but move in and enjoy! Paid our first years fees up front and put money aside for the next years..... Loved it! so relaxing but it was starting to grate that the van was in the middle of the site and away from the lovely views so started looking for another one with a view. Found it at the very end of the season and bought it for a knock down price as there was a lot needed doing to it but we didnt actually realise how much until we went down at the beginning of this season (1 March to end October is the season) And this is were the shoestring bit comes in....our finances have taken a dive, I only work part time and dh is starting up his own gardening business so money is extremly tight. We really only have the money left over from the sale of our other van to get this ship shape. Really, we cant afford the luxury of a holdiay home at the moment but its catch 22 - the van isnt really in a saleable condition so we decided to use it this year and do it up and see what happens next year (we could have won the lottery by then!) So this blog is about our adventures into static caravan repairs and decoration! I did take some before pictures so will add them later....
